Research of the Active Tectonic of Kilikya Region by Wavelet Analysis

Abstract In this study, wavelet analysis was applied to the geophysical data of the İskenderun region, which has

a very complex structure in terms of tectonics, and tectonic elements belonging to the region were tried to be

revealed. The region is located in the south of Turkey and is actively active in Africa, Anatolia and Arabic

plates. The area where these three levans intersect, which is called Maras Joint, is located to the east of the

Cilicia region and very young tectonic structures and discontinuities dominate the region due to the formation of

the joint. The interaction of the plates is controlled by two major fault zones. But the continuity of these fault

zones with each other is still a matter of debate.
