CCl4 is bioactivated by cytochrome P-450 and trichloromethyl radical is formed. Our aim was to investigate how CCl4 and vitamin E treatments affect oxidant (XO) and antioxidant enzymes SOD, CAT, GP status in rat blood and liver tissues. Our results show that generally CCl4 treatment doesn't cause significant alterations on both blood and liver enzymes we studied. Furthermore, vitamin E treatment neither before CCl4 treatment nor together CCl4 doesn't make significant differences on the activities of above enzymes.
