Fibromyalgia syndrome, characterised by musculoskeletal pain and tender points has a special importance among chronic pain syndromes. In this clinical study, we tried to evaluated the efficiency of three different treatment methods, that are iontophoresis, interferential electrical current and vitamin E, in the fibromyalgia syndrome. 36 patients (34 female, 2 male) were evaluated with respect to pain, daily activities, tiredness, stiffness, fibrositic nodules, trigger point and number, and routine laboratory and radiologic findings. Clinical parameters were compared before and the treatment and at the 15th and 21st day of the treatment. There was no statistically difference among the three groups. As a result we can suggest that all of the three methods are efficient in the treatment of fibromyalgia syndrome.
