The condition of drilling is a key element to reach the planned production rates. Reliability analysis is one way to monitor equipment condition, and it assists to (1) maximize the equipment utilization, and (2) forecast unexpected delays. This study presents a simulation approach to generate probable realizations of equipment availabilities over a given time duration. The proposed approach based on discrete event simulation (DES) can be used to quantify the risks emerging from uncertainties such as maintenance and movement losses of drilling machine set.
